We understand that hastelloy alloys such as Hastelloy G are an excellent corrosion resistant fastener when used in the presence of phosphoric acids and oxidizing acid mixtures. In addition, hastelloy G-30 alloy, which is made of a high chromium nickel-base alloy, offer superior corrosion resistance over most other nickel- and iron-base alloys in commercial phosphoric acids as well as many complex environments containing highly oxidizing acids such as nitric, hydrocholoric, and sulfuric acid. Hastelloy G fasteners is a commonly used in and around phosphoric and oxidizing acids. Specifically, Hastelloy G-30 fasteners are made from a chromium=nickel aslloy that offers outstanding resistance to corrosion from many oxidizing acids (ie Nitric acid, hyrochloric acid, and sulfuric acid).
Hastelloy G-30 fasteners (UNS N06030 fasteners) and G-35 fasteners (UNS N06030 fasteners) are both highly resistant to “wet process” phosphoric acid, and are other used in evaporator tubes, and pickling hardware where resistance to acids is crucial.
